LOVE NOTES FROM MISS T:

03/27/10: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY ARIES COMRADES!
Last year involved me recording a CD of my Uncle Joe doing Chamorro songs for the family-- sorry folks, only a few cd's are available to the public at my live shows. (He is also a fellow Aries - Happy Birthday, favorite Uncle!) But this year, my recording chops are up and the recording of new songs is finally underway. Some songs are in collaboration with my buddy Brandon Cook (aka Slash from the G'n'R Portland Tribute band: Appetite for Deception - they rock hard - next gig April 2nd at Dante's). There will be rock tango sexy, there will be hushed songs of solace, there will be funky love pop, there will be angry blues and there will be sumpthin soon! The more you harass me, the more chances of it getting done by Christmas!! Feel free to make donations to the CD production fund by clicking on the contact link above and saying "hey, how can I help?" xox, T

09/01/09: Hey There Friends, Fam, & students!
I ask for your support in helping me raise money for the non-profit I teach at: Ethos Music Center!. I will be participating in Ethos' Raise Your Voice 24 hour Karaoke-thon Fundraiser ..., don't worry we do this in teams in a private room and my team (The Teri-fiers!) is only committed for a 3 hour block sometime between 5pm - Sept 24th & 5pm Sept 25th. It is all ages until 10pm, but I don't know if what time I'm signed up for for a couple of weeks.

You can support in one of 2 ways: sponsor me and my team OR become a part of the team.

5/6/08: Ok, 2 YEARS with out the blogging? Look, I never promised you a blog garden. I'm far more into the one on one, up close and personal approach... but I will continue to make occasional notes and now have a more active blog on MySpace. But for now, here is the nutshell: It's Ladies Rock Camp season! Just completed planning and teaching at my favorite camp. 2 more sessions are left if any of you ladies need to get the RAWK ON! LRC is the main fundraiser for the Rock n Roll Camp for Girls. Since I've gotten involved in this wonderful organization, a documentary about the Girls Rock Camp has recently been distributed nationwide and can be view right now at a city near you! Go to Girls Rock Movie for more info.

And just so I made sure to practice what I preach, I recently joined a Motley Crue Tribute Band called Same Ol' Situation as their backup singer. It's been a rawkous ride so far, headbanging, dancing in high heels and sweating a lot - come see for yourself as we hit Portland, Salem, Eugene and Corvallis in the next 5 - 6 weeks.

...putting the grrrr! back in grrrl-power!

Yours very sincerely,

Nas - T

8/4/06: Well y'all, I've just come off my annual adventures at Girls Rock Camp and am rippling with inspiration. Along with the beuuutiful sunny, yes, sunny hot summer we're having here in Portland, I think I am sufficiently re-energized to start working on my new album...oh, plus I have a new home studio. Already I have started work on 2 new songs since the camp, and I'll be damned if they aren't some of the more rockin songs I've written to date... must go to studio.. more later...

3/23/06: Could this be my first entry for 2006? Well, I never promised you a blog garden.... but ah, I'm getting over my second flu of the year just in time for a trip down to California. Looking forward to the old stomping grounds, and some good mexican food and sitting in with my friends Brad Brooks and Cuatro Caminos... Also had a nice show in Seattle at the start of the year and planning on going back in a couple months. West Coast, feel me?

10/31: HAPPY HALLOWEEN, FREAKY MUSIC FANS! Need a treat? I got not one but 2 for you!! 2 compilations I've contributed tracks to are being released this month:
**Twenty Haiku on which I improved some viola under one of, you guessed it, 20 Haiku as read by Bay Area funkster PC Munoz is out this month. Some of the Bay Area's best musicians contribute to this effort. Haiku fans rejoice!
**30 Year old Asian Arts Non Profit, Kearny Street Workshop releases 7 years of APAture compilation CD which includes my contribution "Accidents will Happen". Asian Pop Culture zine Giant Robot gives it a respectable review this month.

9/16: Just heard from my friend Larissa, displaced from Hurricane Katrina, and she is in happy receipt of the care package sent to her via the donations collected during my last performance. Many thanks to all those who donated and reached out to help another in need! Cheers to you! On a completely different note, I hung out recently with Fresno twanger, Brand Rodgers. Check out his site: DudeBoyBlues.com

8/1/05: The energy in Portland flows here like it's rivers. Clean and smooth, with low levels - I spent yesterday (5 hours!) Floating down the Clackamas River in the hot sun and sippin a cold one. Life is good... but now on to the business! Check out the performances page for the bunches of gigs coming up this month. I'll also be sitting in with my buddy Austin Willacy at Bold Sky Cafe, Portland on Aug. 6th at 8:30pm.

In other news: A compilation anniversary CD is being put out by Kearny Street Workshop featuring artists over the years who've performed at APAture. My song "Accidents Will Happen" will be included in this CD. Will keep you posted on the release!

Just last week, I volunteered for Rock n Roll Camp for Girls here in Portland which allows all girls to pursue their wild child in a safe and empowering environment. RRC4G was being filmed this year for a documentary. This was a great and inspiring experience for me, so be looking out for the film. I'm sure it'll inspire you too! If possible, also donate to RRC4G's to keep this great organization going.
